Diwakar U
Diwakar, based in Salem, is an optimistic and dynamic individual with a passion for music that keeps him positive and energized. With a rich background as a former audio engineer at Hello FM and currently holding the position as Production Manager at Sona FM, he brings a lot of experience in radio program production.
As a consultant with People's Power Collective (PPC), Diwakar has contributed to the incubation of Sona FM. His role focuses on enhancing programming quality to reach and resonate with every community member.
In addition to his professional expertise, Diwakar is an accomplished musician, with notable hobbies and interests including singing, composing music, and travelling. He is also the creative force behind the original composition of the Sona FM jingle, which is a product of his personal studio- Future Chord Studio, which he pursues during weekends.
Padmavathi R
Padmavathi, hailing from Karungalpatty, brings with her eclectic experiences, learnings, and maturity that make her an integral part of the Sona FM core team. She has completed her Teacher’s Training and has worked in the insurance sector as well. She is one of the prominent members of Green India and is a strong advocate of a green environment.
Ilakkiya P
A master's in Tamil Literature, Ilakkiya has strong oratory skills and poetic sensitivity. A native of Vaikuntham, Salem, she is the winner of The Oratorical Competition 2022 conducted by the Tamil Nadu Minority Commission, for which she was felicitated by the Chief Minister. She has won several other international competitions. She is an aspiring motivational speaker and author. She is a part of the core team at Sona FM, focuses on content, and brings her skills, warmth, and quiet confidence to her work.
Nagarajan Kannan
A native of Sukkambatty, K. Nagarajan has a master’s in Commerce. A dynamic youth, who was given the title of Mr. Fashion Lord in 2021. He divides his time between Sona FM and his other pursuits.
Sureka Velusamy
Sureka Veusamy from P. Velur, Namkkal residing in Salem, is pursuing her 3rd year B. Sc Visual Communication at Sona College of Arts and Science. She is a girl who strongly believes in the following quote- "Life is not a written book, it is a book of white pages to be written by you".
She is a published co-author and compiler. She is a co-author of Kurbaan, Contemporary of Stories, The Winter Nights, etc. She compiled a book named Helping Hands. She is also handling her social media pages. Her dream is to become a Journal Writer and she is working hard towards it. Currently, she is working at Sona FM on the production team and pursuing her UG degree simultaneously.
Abirami
Abirami, a native of Mettur is a final year college student, pursuing a degree in B.Sc Visual Communication at Sona College of Arts and Science. Alongside her studies, she recently joined Sona FM 107.8 as a part-time radio presenter. This opportunity allows her to merge her passion for media and communication with practical experience. She is excited to continue growing in this dynamic environment, learning from seasoned professionals, and bringing fresh, engaging content to our listeners. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, and doing craft work and loves listening to music, which fuels her creativity and enthusiasm for this industry.
Kumaraguru
Kumaraguru, a native of Minampalli Salem, has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. A person with creative instincts, he chose to start his career in the creative field as a voice over artist. His flair for storytelling, content writing and cinema, added with his stint as a voice over artist, creating & delivering content on YouTube made him a perfect player as a core team member at Sona FM.
Dharun Vignesh
Dharun Vignesh from Shevapet, Salem. A mechanical engineer by education and has 20 months of sales experience. Dharun works on the radio- not as an engineer but as a presenter. He has put his creative skills of free-style rapping, photography and videography to good use. His hobbies of content creation, videography and social media are now the core skills at work in Sona FM.
Manimegalai
Manimegalai is a motivational Speaker, passionate RJ & Instagram Influencer. She comes from Ramakrishna Road Salem. She completed BSC Zoology. Previously did lots of multi-tasking work as a full-time video jockey at Salem Local Channels & Freelancing Modelling & Voice Over Artist. Her notable hobbies are singing, costume design, stitching, and acting (Short film).
