Sona FM conducted a 21-day intense training program for the community radio presenters shortlisted for Sona FM in August 2022. The training prepared the presenters to deliver the right content to the community radio listeners understanding their expectations of them.

Sona FM Community Radio, beaming from Yercaud for the people in Salem District, is excited and proud to bring you our very first broadcast live from our Studio in Mamangam, Salem, on 21st November 2022 at 10am to 12 noon. Repeats can be heard at 4pm and 8pm respectively.

Sona FM, an initiative by Valliappa Foundation, surveyed 1500 people in Salem and Yercaud region to understand their needs and wants in community radio. 40 student volunteers from Sona College of Arts & Science helped us in knowing people’s opinions.
