Sona FM, an initiative by Valliappa Foundation, surveyed 1500 people in Salem and Yercaud region to understand their needs and wants in community radio. 40 student volunteers from Sona College of Arts & Science helped us in knowing people’s opinions.

Valliappa Foundation holds the license to broadcast community radio – Sona FM.
Valliappa Foundation was granted a license in May 2022 and a Wireless Operating Licence in September 2022 to set up a Community Radio Station and broadcast on 89.6 frequency – Sona FM.
