In every corner of the globe, flowers are woven into the very fabric of our lives, cultures, and traditions. They speak volumes in their silent beauty, conveying emotions, messages, and even commitments to sustainable living. They bring tranquillity, joy, and energy to humans. Flower shows celebrate this silent beauty, promote horticulture and gardening, community engagement, and demonstrate cultural values. Recently, our team at Sona FM 107.8 participated in the 47th Yercaud Flower Show, held from May 22nd to May 26th, 2024. In this blog, we compile our activities and outcomes.
Blossoming Community Engagement
At Sona FM 107.8, we believe in more than just broadcasting; we believe in fostering meaningful connections with our community. Our objectives for the Yercaud Flower Show were clear:
- Promote Environmental Sustainability: Armed with eco-friendly cloth bags, we aimed to inspire attendees to shun plastic and embrace reusable alternatives.
- Engage with the Community: We sought feedback, insights, and suggestions from the visitors to tailor our programming to their preferences.
- Increase Brand Awareness: We aimed to create a spotlight on our radio channel, ensuring that our message of environmental consciousness resonated with all attendees.
Sowing the Seeds of Change
Our presence at the flower show was transformative. Here are highlights of the activities that brought our objectives into action:
- Interaction with the visitors of the show: Our booth became a hub of activity as visitors came in to share their thoughts. Through the Baotree app and vocal interactions, we collected invaluable feedback from over 500 visitors. Their insights will serve as the compass guiding our programming decisions.
- Distribution of sustainable cloth bags: Over 280 eco-bags were distributed over the five-day exhibition. The idea was to promote sustainable cloth bags adorned with our logo to replace the harmful single-use plastic bags. The overwhelming positivity for this initiative reinforced our belief in the power of collective action.
- Promotion of the Sona FM 107.8 channel: Armed with flyers and brochures, our team navigated through the crowds, spreading awareness about our channel's mission and programs. Live coverage from the flower show ensured that through the broadcast, our community could also participate in the event remotely.
A Bouquet of Feedback
The responses we received were as diverse as the flowers in the show. The audience appreciated our environmental initiatives, vowing to champion the cause of sustainability. The flower show garnered positive reviews for offering an unforgettable experience. Our friendly and interactive approach paved the way for deeper community connections.
